With Edmonton Branding Photographer & Website Designer for Service-Based Businesses

This branding session in Edmonton with graphic designer Helga is a great example of how thoughtful brand photography can showcase not only what you do, but what it's like to work with you.

While visiting Edmonton to spend time with her daughter, Helga decided it was the perfect opportunity to update her brand photos. Together, we planned a session that reflected her personality, creative process, and the experience of working with her.

For the location, we chose Little Brick, one of Edmonton's most charming coffee shops. With its cozy atmosphere, natural light, and welcoming feel, it was the perfect setting for a creative entrepreneur who values connection and thoughtful design.

WHY WE CHOSE A COFFEE SHOP FOR THIS GRAPHIC DESIGNER BRANDING PHOTO SHOOT IN EDMONTON

The truth is, some of the most impactful brand images are created in spaces that genuinely reflect your business and personality. For Helga, a cozy café felt like a natural extension of her work. It's the kind of place where creative ideas come to life, client conversations happen, and inspiration strikes. Choosing a location that aligns with your brand helps create images that feel authentic rather than staged. It also gives your audience a glimpse into what it's actually like to work with you.

BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY FOR CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS

The more your imagery helps people understand who you are, how you work, and what it feels like to collaborate with you, the easier it becomes to build trust before a conversation even begins.

A branding session like this works beautifully for creative business owners who want images that feel approachable and genuine.

WHAT PROPS TO BRING FOR A BRAND SHOOT

For this session, Helga brought:

  • Her laptop
  • A colour wheel
  • Business cards
  • Wedding invitations she designed
  • A notebook and apen
  • Her glasses
  • Coffee and treats from the café

When planning a branding session, I always encourage clients to bring items that support their story and showcase their expertise.

These small details helped tell a much bigger story about who she is, what she does, and how she serves her clients.

Whether you're a graphic designer, photographer, therapist, coach, interior designer, or other service-based business owner, thoughtful props can help create images that feel personal and strategic.

Who is this person?

What is it like to work with them?

Can I trust them?

Do I see myself in their world?

And as a website designer, I know what images your website needs, and what works well for social media marketing and physical materials.
