Hi, I'm Marissa!
Your Edmonton Brand Photographer + Website Designer
I am a multi-passionate entrepreneur with a love of photography, female-owned businesses, and brand design.
I am blessed to be a mom to two small boys, and that is my #1 favourite job I've ever had and will ever have. They are the best gift.
I'm based in Devon, Alberta, serving the Edmonton and area and across Canada.
business
Brand photography and website design for women in business lights a fire in me; I want to see you thrive, empower you to be yourself, and create an incredible visual brand that attracts your dream clients. I work hard to understand your brand and vision and create a shoot that feels like you. I'm not just a photographer/designer, I'm a business bestie who wants to see you hit all your goals + more.
Motherhood
I am in my motherhood season, so capturing your growing bump in maternity photos, your precious babe in newborn photos, and your crazy chaotic family photos is such a joy to me. I have patience for days, and I do everything I can to make it easy and comfortable for you and your kiddos. Family photo sessions are child-led because we all know they run the show.
LOVE
Couples and weddings, swooooon! Capturing your love from engagement to wedding is such an honour and I do not take it lightly. I am here to guide you, prepare you, support you, and showcase your love. I have a soft spot for intimate weddings and elopements that focus on you vs everyone else. Trust me, I'm invested, and I'll be crying through your ceremony too.
my style
I take a documentary-inspired approach to shooting, with light posing and prompts that give us movement. Authentic moments over fake smiles are more my speed. I consider my editing style natural, but rich, keeping tones truer to colour, with a bit of depth and warmth. People often say that they come to photoshoots nervous (normal!) but I put them completely at ease, and leave feeling so relieved. That is what it's all about for me!
A Decade of Experience
I first picked up a DSLR in 2014. It was an old second-hand Nikon that I bought off Kijiji from a lady in a bakery. I learned so much from that camera, and over time I upgraded, started shooting anyone who would let me, charged $0-50 for my first shoots, $500 for my first wedding, and so the story goes. I have taken pauses to focus on other important aspects of life, but photography has always been my constant. I have never lost the passion and I doubt I ever will!
